I'm Fred Roth, and for about twelve years now I've been posting to the Internet as the Idaho Word Man.
I recently retired after working for twenty-five years as a technical editor for a nuclear engineering laboratory in Idaho. In my work at the lab, I edited documents dealing with nuclear engineering, nuclear safety, chemistry, physics, archeology, geology, biology, hydrodynamics, and a host of other subjects.
Before that, I taught English classes at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho (now BYU-Idaho). Before that, I taught English classes at Brigham Young University.

IDAHO Word Man
In my spare time (what there is of it), I read, write, build wooden boats, build bamboo fly rods, and fish Idaho's Snake River.
I read a lot of science fiction and fantasy. I prefer to write science fiction or fantasy, but my most recent novel was LDS speculative fiction.
